    • Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that nearly 450 km of the border with Bangladesh has not been fenced due to the Trinamool Congress government’s appeasement politics.
    • Despite multiple letters and meetings, the Mamata Banerjee government has stalled the land acquisition process for fencing.
    • Shah cited the illegal Bangladeshi nationals who obtained Aadhaar and voter identity card from a district in West Bengal and posed as Indians in Delhi.
    • He urged the government to stop issuing Aadhaar cards and ensure elections are due in 2026.
    • Shah also addressed a question raised by DMK Member Kanimozhi about the government’s policy regarding Tamil refugees, stating that the policy remains the same as during the UPA government.
