    • West Bengal Pollution Control Board Chairman Kalyan Rudra plans to create an 800-km ‘bioshield’ of forested areas along the Jharkhand border.

    • The ‘green wall’ will intercept pollutants entering Bengal, extending to the Birbhum and Dinajpur districts.

    • The project is part of a larger effort to reduce in-situ pollution and encourage sustainable practices.

    • Prof. Aniruddha Mukhopadhyay of the University of Calcutta emphasizes the need for behavioral change.
