Bodoland Pig Mission in Assam’s BTR

• The Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) collaborated with Europe in 2021 to elevate traditional pig farming.

• The Bodoland Pig Mission, a collaboration between the BTR government, Programma Uitzending Managers (PUM) and Denmark’s Danish Consortium of Academic Craftsmanship, is aiming to become the hub of quality pig production in northeast India.

• The mission is focusing on a biosecure nuclear breeding farm and model fattener farms, with a goal of producing 1 lakh kg of high-quality, hygienic pork daily.

• The mission is also promoting model fattener farms to reach a market-ready weight for slaughter.
