China Welcomes PM’s SCO Summit Visit

• China welcomes Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s planned visit to the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Tianjin.

• Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun praised the event as “a gathering of solidarity, friendship and fruitful results.”

• The summit is expected to be held from August 31 to September 1.

• Modi is expected to visit Japan around August 29 and then to Tianjin for the SCO summit.

• The last visit to China was in June 2018.
