• High levels of faecal coliform found in river water during Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj.

• The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) reported the water quality was not in line with primary bathing water quality.

• The NGT ordered the CPCB to submit a comprehensive action taken report.

• The UPPCB failed to comply with the Tribunal’s order to file a comprehensive action taken report.

• The report was submitted to the green court on February 3.
