Defense Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh assumes leadership role

• Takes over from incumbent Giridhar Aramane, a retired officer from Andhra Pradesh cadre.

• Singh, a 1989-batch IAS officer from Kerala cadre, was previously the Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry.

• Prior to his appointment, Singh laid a wreath and paid homage to fallen heroes at the National War Memorial.
