    Delhi Air Quality Decline

    • Delhi’s air quality fell to the’very poor’ category on Sunday, with an average AQI of 382 at 4 p.m., up from 316 the previous day.
    • The air quality is expected to remain in the’very poor’ category until Wednesday, potentially deteriorating to’severe’ in the next six days.
    • The main cause of pollution is extreme meteorological conditions and stubble burning in neighboring states.
    • On November 2, stubble burning accounted for 14.9% of PM2.5 pollutants in Delhi, down from 35.1% on November 1.
    • Paddy fires in Punjab and Haryana decreased from 587 to 216 on Sunday.
    • Delhi and north India typically experience a surge in pollution during winter due to meteorological factors and stubble burning.
