• The meeting also aimed to secure a date for the Quad Leaders Summit in India later this year.

• Union Minister Piyush Goyal is also in the U.S. this week, having been invited by the Donald Trump administration.

• The meeting was the first since the tariffs were imposed in early July and then doubled.
