Doctors’ Strike Impacts Healthcare Services in Manipur

• All services at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Manipur’s capital, Imphal, were shut down due to a doctor’s assault.

• State units of the Indian Medical Association, Association for Healthcare Providers of India, Imphal Obstetrics and Gynaecology Society, and other medical bodies supported the strike.

• The Teachers’ and Medical Officers’ Association (TAMOA) of RIMS announced a 24-hour suspension of all operations.

• Protests will continue until authorities identify and punish the attackers.

• TAMOA plans to lodge police complaints and take legal action against the assailants.
