Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave to Replace Indian Science Congress

• The Department of Science and Technology (DST) is set to organize the first-ever Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) in November.

• The ESTIC may replace the Indian Science Congress, the oldest scientific gathering in India, which has been in oblivion since 2023.

• The IISF, organized by the government, aims to popularise science among students and young people.

• The inaugural ESTIC is expected to be held at the Panjab University, Chandigarh.

• The event is expected to feature 11 thematic technical sessions and 75 exhibition stalls by ‘deep tech’ startups.

• The event is expected to showcase cutting-edge research, deep-tech breakthroughs, and thought-provoking discussions, aiming to ignite a new era of scientific leadership towards Viksit Bharat 2047.
