    • The Aero India airshow, held every spring in Bengaluru, started over three decades ago.

    • Originally known as Avia India, it was rebranded as Aero India in 1996.

    • Today, it is Asia’s largest airshow, attracting major armament companies worldwide.

    • The show has been a significant competition for the Indian Air Force’s medium multi-role combat aircraft (MMRCA) deal.

    • In 2021, the show reinvented itself during the COVID-19 pandemic.

    • This year’s edition featured the Russian Su-57 and American F-35 Lightning II, marking the first time these advanced stealth fighters were seen in an international airshow.

    • Despite a decrease in aircraft and flying display teams, the event continues to attract crowds to witness the Light Utility Helicopters, Su-30 MKIs, and Light Combat Aircraft.
