‘Flying squads’ combat stubble burning in Punjab and Haryana.

• The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has deployed flying squads in 26 districts of Punjab and Haryana to curb stubble burning.
• The move follows the Supreme Court’s decision to appoint the CAQM, a Central government panel monitoring air pollution in Delhi.
• The squads are assisting the CAQM in monitoring hotspot districts where stubble burning incidents are higher.
