    • Manipur government has increased security for farmers in vulnerable areas, particularly along the ‘buffer zone’ between the Meitei-dominated Imphal Valley and surrounding hills.
    • The decision was prompted by a farmer’s bullet injury in Bishnupur district’s Phhubala on June 19.
    • A high-level meeting was held in Imphal on June 28 to review farming security arrangements and prevent similar incidents.
    • Police personnel are deployed in vulnerable farming areas, assisting Central security forces.
    • Senior police officers are visiting farming areas to oversee security arrangements.
    • Joint combing operations are being conducted in the fringe areas to eliminate miscreants.
    • The government urges farmers to remain vigilant and inform local police or security forces before farming activities.
