France hosts diplomacy, tech, and diversity summit.
• The 19th Francophonie Summit will be hosted by over 100 Heads of States, government, and high-ranking officials in Paris and Villers-Cotterêts.
• The summit will address key international questions, including the renewal of multilateralism and digital issues related to AI development.
• The organization, founded in 1970, promotes French language and cooperation between its 88 Member States and Governments.
• The summit will also focus on reducing the “North/South divide” and promoting cultural and linguistic diversity.
• France will host the summit for the first time in 33 years, focusing on “Create, Innovate and do Business in French.”
• The summit will deliberate on renewing multilateralism, including changing the governance composition of main institutions and reforming the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
• The summit will also focus on digital technology, particularly in light of the proliferation of AI in societies.
• France will follow up on these deliberations by hosting the AI Action Summit in February 2025.
• The first FrancoTech Fair, a major event, will be held on the margins of the summit, offering opportunities for young Indian innovators with international ambitions.
