Government Issues Telecom Cybersecurity Rules

• Telecom entities must appoint a Chief Telecommunication Security Officer and report security incidents within six hours.
• Within 24 hours of a security incident, they must provide information on affected users, duration, geographical area, network or service functioning, and remedial measures.
• Manufacturers of equipment with an IMEI number must register with the government before the first sale.
