Government May Push for Key Sports Bill Passage in Lok Sabha Amid Deadlock

• The National Sports Governance Bill, which aims for greater transparency in sports bodies’ functioning, has been listed for consideration and passage.

• The Rajya Sabha has also listed a resolution on the extension of President’s Rule in Manipur by another six months.

• Government sources suggest that if the Opposition continues its protests, the National Sports Governance Bill will be passed.

• Other bills listed for consideration include the Readjustment of Representation of Scheduled Tribes in Assembly Constituencies, the Merchant Shipping Bill, and the Indian Ports Bill, 2025.
