Hyderabad hospital ‘food poisoning’ probe continues
• Dr. D. Padmaja, Deputy Civil Surgeon and Resident Medical Officer at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH), Erragadda, has been relieved from her duties due to a suspected food poisoning outbreak.
• The outbreak was linked to sweets distributed on Telangana Formation Day.
• The hospital’s ward saw a surge in complaints of nausea, vomiting, and uneasiness.
• A police complaint was filed and an investigation is ongoing.
• Health Minister C. Damodar Raja Narasimha confirmed that the sweets distributed on the occasion could be the cause.
