  • IAF’s Mirage 2000 crashes near Gwalior after system malfunction; pilots safe

    • An IAF aircraft, a twin-seater Mirage 2000, crashed in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh due to a system malfunction.

    • The pilots safely ejected before the accident.

    • The plane was on a routine sortie and crashed near Sunari village in Karera police station limits.

    • An inquiry has been ordered to determine the cause of the accident.

    • The pilots were airlifted back to the base by IAF officials.

    • No local person suffered injuries in the incident.

    • The IAF operates three squadrons of the Mirage 2000 fighters, manufactured by Dassault Aviation of France.
