India, Africa maritime engagement exercise begins in Tanzania
• The six-day AIKEYME exercise began in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, on Sunday.
• The exercise aims to develop collaborative solutions to regional maritime challenges and enhance interoperability among partner nations’ maritime forces.
• The exercise includes participation from countries like Comoros, Djibouti, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Seychelles, and South Africa.
• The initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions (MAHASAGAR).
• The Indian Naval Ship Chennai and INS Kesari arrived in Dar-es-Salaam, where the inauguration ceremony was co-hosted with the Tanzanian Peoples’ Defence Force (TPDF).
