India and Algeria Sign MoU on Bilateral Defense Cooperation
• India and Algeria signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on bilateral defense cooperation.
• The MoU was signed by Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and Chief of Staff of Algerian People’s National Army Said Chanegriha.
• The MoU aims to enhance strategic interests and mutual understanding between the two nations.
• The MoU also lays the foundation for long-term collaboration across various sectors.
• The visit coincided with the 70th anniversary of Algeria’s revolution.
• General Chauhan expressed India’s readiness to share experiences with Algerian forces and emphasized India’s increasing defence production capability under the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Make for the World’ programmes.
