India bloc parties to question foreign policy ‘failures’ of government
• Leaders of 24 Indian bloc parties held an online meeting to discuss strategy for the Monsoon Session of Parliament.
• The Opposition will highlight the government’s failure to apprehend the perpetrators of the Pahalgam terror attack and U.S. President Donald Trump’s claims of brokering peace during Operation Sindoor.
• The parties have also decided to protest against the special intensive revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in Bihar.
• The Opposition will also demand statehood for Jammu and Kashmir.
• Congress leader Pramod Tiwari stated that the Opposition has listed eight priority issues, including the government’s failure to apprehend terrorists responsible for the Pahalgam terror attack and U.S. President Donald Trump’s claims of using America’s trade deal to broker peace between India and Pakistan.
• The Opposition will also raise India’s stand on Israel’s attack on Gaza.
• The impending delimitation issue was also raised, which is of concern to southern States anticipating a possible reduction in seats in Parliament.
