    • India has criticized Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir’s nuclear threat from the U.S., stating it is a “stock-in-trade” for Pakistan.

    • Munir’s remarks have raised doubts about the integrity of nuclear command and control in Pakistan, where the military is “hand-in-glove” with terrorist groups.

    • The External Affairs Ministry stated that India would not succumb to nuclear blackmail and would continue to safeguard national security.

    • Munir also warned that if India’s water flow to Pakistan was disrupted, it would destroy Indian infrastructure.

    • The U.S.’s support for Pakistan’s military has been criticized for displaying aggression.

    • Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh condemned Munir’s remarks, stating they were “dangerous, provocative, and totally unacceptable.”
