    • India rejects the “supplemental award” and claims it has never recognized the existence of the Court of Arbitration.

    • The External Affairs Ministry argues that the Court of Arbitration’s constitution is a serious breach of the Indus Waters Treaty.

    • Pakistan has been raising objections about the design of the power projects since 2015.

    • India views the Court of Arbitration’s declarations as a “charade at Pakistan’s behest” and argues that India has exercised its rights as a sovereign nation under international law.

    • The Ministry argues that no Court of Arbitration, including the illegally constituted one, can examine India’s actions in exercise of its sovereign rights.
