India Hosts Meeting with Myanmar Junta and Civil Society
• India initiated dialogues with Myanmar junta, civil society organizations, and political parties.
• The closed-door discussions were held at the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA) and are expected to continue for three days.
• The second round of discussions is scheduled for next week.
• The delegation includes representatives from the National Solidarity and Peace Negotiation Committee (NSPNC), Centre for Peace and Reconciliation (CPR), and the Peoples Party leader, Ko Ko Gyi.
• India’s Ambassador Abhay Thakur met with the delegation at the airport in Myanmar before their departure to New Delhi.
