• Japanese businesses increased their investment targets in India to $68 billion and signed 170 MoUs with Indian partners.

• A 2035 Vision Statement was released, focusing on economic security, mobility, and green technology transition.

• A “Next-Gen State-Prefecture Partnership” was highlighted, boosting direct flight connectivity.

• The 2008 Security partnership was updated to include an annual NSA-level dialogue, Indo-Pacific cooperation, and UN Security Council reform.

• The Economic Security Partnership aims to build resilient supply chains and secure critical infrastructure.

• Japan collaborated with India’s High Speed Rail “Bullet Train” project and inspected a semiconductor factory.

• The leaders condemned North Korea’s missile tests, nuclear programme, Pahalgam attack, and cross-border terrorism.

• The leaders stressed the importance of the upcoming Quad Summit, amidst concerns over Trump’s actions against India.

• The meetings were largely bilateral, but also geopolitically focused, with Modi visiting Tokyo amid American tariffs and Japan’s concerns over the East China Sea.
