India Responds to U.S. Court Summons on Khalistani Group Sikhs For Justice
• India’s Foreign Secretary, Vikram Misri, criticizes a U.S. court summons of Indian citizens, including National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and former RAW chief Samant Goel, for “unwarranted and unsubstantiated imputations.”
• The case, filed by India-banned Khalistani group Sikhs For Justice leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, is based on “unwarranted and unsubstantiated imputations.”
• The defendants are required to respond to the summons within 21 days.
• Misri emphasizes that the organization representing Pannun is an unlawful one, declared under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, for its anti-national and subversive activities.
• The summons comes on the eve of PM Narendra Modi’s visit to the U.S.
