India Seeks Extradition of Pro-Khalistan “Terrorist” Arsh Dalla
• India seeks the extradition of pro-Khalistan “terrorist” Arsh Dalla, who was arrested by Canadian police in Ontario.
• The External Affairs Ministry has stated that due to Dalla’s criminal record in India and involvement in similar illegal activities in Canada, it is expected that he will be extradited or deported to face justice in India.
• Dalla is a proclaimed offender in over 50 cases of murder, attempt to murder, extortion, and terrorist acts.
• In July 2023, the Indian government requested Canada for his provisional arrest, but it was declined.
• A separate request was also sent to Canada under the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty to verify Dalla’s residential address, financial transactions to India, and mobile numbers.
