Indian Navy Chief Visits Sri Lanka to Strengthen Relations

• Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff, begins four-day visit to Sri Lanka to deepen bilateral naval ties.

• The visit will involve calls with Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya and Vice-Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, and bilateral discussions with Service chiefs and senior government officials.

• The talks will focus on maritime security, capability enhancement, training, and new avenues of defence cooperation.

• Tripathi will participate in the 12th edition of the Galle Dialogue 2025 – International Maritime Conference in Colombo.

• The visit underlines India’s commitment to deepening friendship with Sri Lanka and fostering enhanced understanding in shared strategic and maritime interests.
