India’s Engagement with Bangladesh’s Interim Government
• India’s High Commissioner Pranay Verma has increased engagement with the interim government in Dhaka.
• Verma met with Bangladesh’s home affairs adviser, Lt. General Jehangir Alam Chaudhury, on September 2 to discuss bilateral security cooperation.
• Verma also met with the energy affairs adviser, Muhammad Fauzul Kabir Khan, on September 7 to discuss development projects and sub-regional power connectivity.
• Verma held meetings with economic affairs adviser Salehuddin Ahmed and fisheries adviser Farida Akhtar, indicating India’s willingness to engage with key figures in the interim government.
