Indigenous defense acquisition totaling ₹1.05 lakh cr. approved.

• The DAC, chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, has granted Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) for 10 capital acquisition proposals worth ₹1.05 lakh crore.
• The procurements include Armoured Recovery Vehicles, Electronic Warfare System, Integrated Common Inventory Management System for the Tri-Services, and Surface-to-Air Missiles.
• The council’s agenda aims to enhance India’s air defence capabilities along the Pakistan border.
• The procurements will provide higher mobility, effective air defence, better supply chain management, and enhance operational preparedness.
• The procurements also include Moored Mines, Mine Counter Measure Vessels, Super Rapid Gun Mount, and Submersible Autonomous Vessels.
