ISMA: Sugar output to fall.

• Gross production is expected to be 310.2 lakh tonnes, 9% lower than the previous season.

• 37.5 lakh tonnes will be diverted for ethanol.

• Net production is expected to be 272.69 lakh tonnes, with 10 lakh tonnes exported.

• 165 lakh tonnes were produced between October 1, 2024 and January 31, 2025, compared to 187.15 lakh tonnes last year.

• Domestic sugar consumption in the first three months of 2024-25 was about 65 lakh tonnes, five lakh tonnes lower than the previous year.

• Sugarcane yield and recovery in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra are lower than last year.
