    • ISRO’s mission to place the earth observation satellite EOS-09 into orbit was halted due to a technical glitch.

    • The PSLV-C61 rocket, launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, experienced a fall in chamber pressure during the third stage, preventing the mission from being completed.

    • The mission was expected to place the satellite into a sun synchronous polar orbit 17 minutes after lift-off.

    • The third stage of the PSLV is a solid rocket motor that provides higher thrust after the atmospheric phase of the launch.

    • The mission was the 63rd flight of the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle and the 27th in the PSLV-XL configuration.

    • The spacecraft was configured using ISRO’s RISAT-1 heritage bus, with most functional requirements derived from earlier ISRO missions.
