    J&K Phase I Polls Show Peaceful Turnout

    • 24 Jammu and Kashmir constituencies recorded a polling percentage of 58.85% in the first phase of the Assembly election.
    • There was a significant increase in turnout in all 16 seats in militancy-affected areas of the Kashmir valley.
    • Chief Electoral Officer P.K. Pole stated that peaceful polling was observed, with no instances of repoll.
    • Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar expressed the deep trust and confidence of the people in the democratic exercise.
    • The Chenab Valley seats in Doda, Kishtwar, and Ramban recorded between 68% and 70% polling.
    • The newly created constituency of Paddar-Nagseni in Kishtwar registered a record turnout of 76.80%.
