  • Junior Doctors Protest CBI’s Investigation in R.G. Kar Case

    • Junior doctors in West Bengal protest against the CBI’s investigation in the R.G. Kar case.

    • The doctors led a march to the CGO complex, the office of the Central Bureau of Investigation.

    • The protesters questioned the role of the Central agency investigating the case.

    • The march was stopped by the police as protesters tried to enter the CGO complex.

    • Aniket Mahato, a resident doctor at the R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital, argued that people have lost faith in the CBI and its investigation.

    • The Calcutta High Court allowed the junior doctors to hold protests at Dorina Crossing in Esplanade from December 20 to 26, but restrictions were put on the gathering.

    • The parents of the 31-year-old victim moved the High Court on December 19 to seek fresh investigation.
