Maharashtra School Education Study Committee Protests

• The Shaley Shikshan Abhyas Samiti protested against the Maharashtra government’s appointment of a committee to study the implementation of the three-language formula in schools.

• At least 25 organizations supported the protest, demanding the resignation of the School Education Minister, Dada Bhuse.

• The linguistic controversy continues in the State after the government withdrew two government resolutions introducing Hindi as the third language in Marathi and English medium schools.

• The government-appointed committee, headed by economist and educationist Narendra Jadhav, received criticism for questioning the need for the committee after the GRs were scrapped.
