Maharashtra Government Temporarily Suspends Ladki Bahin Scheme Payments for 26.34 Lakh Beneficiaries

• The Maharashtra government suspended monthly payments under the Ladki Bahin Scheme to 26.34 lakh beneficiaries.

• The scheme, intended to provide financial support of ₹1,500 a month to women from low-income groups, was launched in August 2024.

• The scheme was suspended from June 2025, while 2.25 crore eligible beneficiaries received the payments.

• The eligibility of the suspended beneficiaries will be verified by District Collectors.

• The government is taking action against fraudulent beneficiaries who availed benefits through improper means.
