Manipur arrests 13 terrorists, including the leader of the Kuki organization, and recovers their weaponry and cash

• Security forces in Manipur apprehended 13 extremists from October 1, associated with three banned groups: Chin Kuki Mizo Army (CKMA), United Kuki National Army (UKNA), and People’s Liberation Army (PLA).

• Four CKMA members were caught in Churachandpur, including military chief Paokholen Guite, who was involved in weapons and drug trafficking across the India-Myanmar border.

• Seized from Guite: two AK-47 rifles, 181 rounds of ammunition, ₹1 lakh in cash, and a vehicle.

• PLA members were captured in Imphal West for extorting money from brick kiln owners and a quarry owner in Thoubal district.

• PLA was implicated in an ambush on an Assam Rifles convoy in September, resulting in two fatalities.

• Six UKNA members were also arrested, one linked to the murder of four civilians in Bishnupur district.

• The UKNA issued a warning against future operations by security forces.
