    • The Communist Party of India (Maoist) has criticized the government’s surrender policy as a partial solution to the Maoist issue.

    • The North-West Sub-Zonal Bureau of the CPI (Maoist) stated that the policy was an extension of its Central Committee’s recent call for peace talks.

    • Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma rejected the committee’s demand for a favorable environment for talks.

    • The Chhattisgarh government announced its Maoist Surrender and Victim Rehabilitation Policy, 2025, which provides financial assistance for Maoists who surrender.

    • The letter reiterated the need for security forces to cease offensives in Naxal-dominated areas, mainly Bastar.

    • The government urged Maoists to understand that dialogue cannot be held amid threats of violence.
