Maratha Quota Struggle in Mumbai Continues

• Thousands of protesters in Mumbai joined Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange-Patil at Azad Maidan to demand benefits for the community under the Other Backward Classes category.

• Jarange-Patil vowed to continue the protest until their demands are met, even if he is shot dead.

• Mumbai police granted him permission to carry on with the protest for another day on Saturday.

• Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated the State was committed to finding a solution within the legal and constitutional framework.

• Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde vowed not to do injustice to the Marathas and other communities.

• Jarange-Patil expressed anger at the government for allowing the protest for only one day and warned against further delay.

• He appealed to the protesters to refrain from stone-pelting, arson, or anything that could bring disrepute to the cause.
