Meghalaya’s First State University to Be Consecrated
• The Captain Williamson Sangma State University, a Christian institution, will be sanctified with a Christian prayer service.
• The university, named after Meghalaya’s first CM, will be consecrated on January 13.
• The event is part of the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance coalition, which includes the National People’s Party (NPP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
• The university’s Vice-Chancellor will also assume office on the same day.
• The university’s building was inaugurated in January 2023, but is yet to start functioning formally.
