Murmu bestows the Padma Awards to 71 individuals.
• President Droupadi Murmu conferred the Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri to 71 distinguished individuals on the eve of the 76th Republic Day.
• The ceremony was held at Rashtrapati Bhavan’s Durbar Hall, with the presence of Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
• Four recipients received Padma Vibhushan, the second-highest civilian honour in the country.
• 10 distinguished personalities received Padma Bhushan: Veteran actor Mr. Kapur, Telugu actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, Pankaj Udhas, Sushil Kumar Modi, former hockey player P.R. Sreejesh, Tamil actor S. Ajith Kumar, chairperson of Zydus Lifesciences Pankaj Patel, and Vinod Dham.
• 57 prominent personalities received Padma Shri, including Mr. Ramasubbaiyer, former State Bank of India chairperson Arundhati Bhattacharya, industrialist Pawan Kumar Goenka, wildlife researcher Maruti Bhujangrao Chitampalli, master puppeteer Bhimavva Doddabalappa Shillekyathara, former AIIMS and SGPGI Director A.K. Mahapatra, and Punjabi singer Jaspinder Narula Kumar.
• 30 unsung heroes were also awarded, including 100-year-old Libia Lobo Sardesai.
