• The session will open on September 9, with Brazil as the traditional first speaker.

• U.S. President Donald Trump will address world leaders on September 23, his first UN session in his second term.

• India will be represented by a ‘Minister’.

• External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will address the PRESS TRUST OF INDIA, UNITED NATIONS session on September 27.

• The session is scheduled amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas war and the Ukraine conflict.

• The theme for the session is ‘Better together: 80 years and more for peace, development, and human rights’.

• Other high-level meetings include a meeting to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the United Nations on September 22.
