• The criticism follows the recommendation by the first Cabinet meeting to dissolve the House of Representatives.

• The Nepali Congress (NC), the largest political party, warns that any action violating the Constitution would be unacceptable.

• The NC claims the dissolution of Parliament has “jeopardised the democratic achievements” of the country.

• CPN-UML general secretary Shankar Pokharel and the Maoist Centre (Maoist Centre) also express disagreement with the decision.
