Nirmala Sitharaman Urges Women to Join Central Schemes
• Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman distributed loans totaling ₹1,121 crore to 50,294 beneficiaries during the Credit Outreach Programme in Madhubani district of Bihar.
• Sitharaman emphasized women’s role in achieving a developed India by 2047.
• The government initiated the Drone Didi scheme for self-help groups, aiming to create Lakhpati didis, an SHG member with an annual household income of over ₹1 lakh.
• She urged women to participate in the government’s schemes and take advantage of them.
• Loan sanction letters issued under various schemes include PM MUDRA, PMEGP, Kisan Credit Card (Crop), KCC (Animal Husbandry & Fisheries), Stand Up India, PM-SVANidhi, and PM Vishwakarma.
• Loan sanction letters were also disbursed for retail sector, MSMEs, SHGs, and farmers.
