• Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai reports an average of three daily surrenders of alleged Maoists in the past 15 months.
• The surrenders are seen as a sign of the government’s increasing reach and trust in Maoist-affected regions.
• In the latest surrender in Sukma district, 23 Maoists with a combined bounty of ₹1.18 crore surrendered.
• The surrenders follow the surrender of 22 Maoists in the Abhujmad area who carried collective rewards of ₹37.5 lakh in Narayanpur district.
