Pakistan and China to Strengthen Economic Corridor

• Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chinese Premier Li Qiang met in Beijing, reaffirming their commitment to strengthen their strategic cooperative partnership.

• The two agreed to continue working on the next phase of the upgraded China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC 2.0), which includes five new corridors.

• Sharif expressed gratitude to China for their unwavering support to Pakistan’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and socio-economic development.

• Sharif highlighted the significant contribution of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor to Pakistan’s socio-economic development.

• Priority areas for mutually beneficial economic collaboration identified include agriculture, mines and minerals, textile, industrial sector, and IT.
