• Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announces the formation of a new military force to oversee missile capabilities.

• The new force will be equipped with modern technology and capable of striking enemies from all directions.

• The new force will improve conventional war capabilities, a result of the deadly conflict with India in May.

• Islamabad is increasing its defence spending by 20% in the current Budget following the conflict.

• The country is also in talks to acquire 40 new Chinese fighter jets and new air defence systems.
