Pilot project launches internships to address job market-skills gap
• The Union government launched a portal for top 500 Indian companies to participate in a one-year internship scheme.
• The scheme aims to bridge the skill gap between unemployable youth and employers.
• 111 corporates, including Mahindra, Max Life Insurance, and Alembic Pharma, have signed up for 1,077 internships.
• The scheme is expected to train about one lakh youth by December 2.
