Prajwal Revanna Seeks Lifelong Jail in Sex Abuse Case

• Prajwal Revanna, former Janata Dal MP, was sentenced to “imprisonment for the remainder of his natural life” in a sex abuse case.

• Revanna was convicted of multiple rape and sexual abuse cases against a domestic worker on his family’s farm.

• He is the grandson of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda and was suspended from the party due to multiple rape allegations.

• Judge Santosh Gajanan Bhat of the Special Court of Sessions convicted Revanna of all charges.

• Prajwal was sentenced to “imprisonment for life which shall mean remainder of natural life” under Section 376(2)(n) of the Indian Penal Code and “imprisonment for life” under Section 376(2)(k) of the IPC and Information Technology Act, 2000.
