    • Two men were burned during protests in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, following the disposal of toxic waste from the Bhopal gas tragedy.

    • Protesters gathered at various locations to protest the waste disposal at an incineration facility.

    • Police used water cannons and brief baton charges to deter protesters from marching towards the facility.

    • Locals and activists have long opposed the disposal due to concerns about environmental pollution.

    • Chief Minister Mohan Yadav assured that the state would not put any life in danger and that the waste would be incinerated under scientific guidance.

    • Dhar district authorities imposed restrictions on assembly within 100 meters of the incineration facility until January 12.
